The video "One Hundred Desires for Harbour for Cultures" shows 100 selected desires collected in a participatory process (carte blanches at trieste contemporanea, organized by Betta Porro, a workshop by transparadiso, and many other events) for "Harbour for Cultures" (Porto Vecchio, Trieste) as basis for a socially engaged urban planning and programming of the Old Harbour - a production of desires for instigating a process of direct urbanism by transparadiso.
In a quiet and poetic travel from the perspective of a ship along the full length of the area of the Old Harbour in Trieste the video conveys the significance of this centrally located urban area for the whole city as urban public space with public access to the sea. The video is part of the ongoing project "Harbour for Cultures" engaged in furthering the exchange of cultural, humanistic and communal values instead of mere economic interests. |
